Pathological vaginal discharge among pregnant women: Prevalence, pattern and related complications

Introduction: Vaginal discharge is the most frequent complaint among women of child bearing age that requires care and hygiene. Pathological vaginal leads to multiple complications in both mother fetus. Aims Objectives: Purpose this study was determine prevalence discharge, pattern, common infectious causes, risk factors associated with pathological its complications. Materials Methods: A prospective done from November 2021 April 2022 Department Obstetrics gynaecology at Sawai Man Singh hospital, Jaipur Rajasthan. This included pregnant discharge. Result: total 300 attending antenatal clinic were studied. Out patients there 174(58%) primigravida 126(42%) multigravida. 90(30%) symptomatic 210(70%) asymptomatic. 90 (30%) 54(60%) have Candidiasis, 27(30%) Bacterial Vaginosis 9(10%) Trichomoniasis. 24(26.7%) developed threatened preterm, 15(16.7%) premature rapture membrane (PROM), 5(5.5%) Preterm delivery. Conclusion: In found be more younger group primigravida. PROM prematurity. Our concludes for timely detection, management prevention advise on good hygiene habits.
